Terence Kemp McKenna (November 16, 1946 – April 3, 2000) was an American ethnobotanist, mystic, psychonaut, lecturer, author, and an advocate for the responsible use of naturally occurring psychedelic plants.
He is certainly the major reason for my own personal interest in plant medicines and psychedelics and I owe a lot to him and his teachings.
Over the years I have spent 100’s of hours listening to Terence and others of like mind. However, these 14 minutes stand out as exceptional. A truly beautiful articulation of these complex ideas. He was a poet indeed; with a powerful message of hope. It hits close to home in our current, seemingly hopeless, global climate.
Where do the ideas come from?
The above clip was taken from one of McKenna’s lectures uploaded by Ethereal Expositions on YouTube titled ‘Awakening To Archaic Values’.
It’s one of his best lectures for sure….Terrence McKenna’s soul lives on in his teachings.
