At a Taco Bell in Camillus, New York there is a very special person working as cashier. Her name is Kelly Stewart.  No matter how busy it may get for her behind the counter, this 27-year-old employee always tries to include an extra serving of inspiration with her customer orders.  She makes sure to take the time to add a note of kindness, in the form of a quote or encouraging anecdote, onto the back of every customers receipt.

She has only been working there for a few months but she has received loads of positive feedback from her customers already. Countless people have praised her and even publicized her small acts of kindness on social media. For example, one customer told Syracuse.com that she had recently left the fast food restaurant only to find one of Stewart’s inspirational notes included with her order. She said:

“I got this message that said ‘when you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot around it and hang on…’ It made me stop in my tracks and smile. Knowing someone took time out of their work or life to write this is another example that there are still good people out there.”

People are so moved by this nice gesture of hers to give a little bit extra out to people. So much so that customers are now rallying to repay the favor by calling on Taco Bell’s corporate branch. They want the company to recognize and reward her for going above the call of duty.

Since Stewart began her labor of love, she has included hundreds of motivational, inspirational, and uplifting messages into people’s orders every month. Every note she has made was purely out of the kindness of her heart. She never intended for anything to come of it, or to get any attention for it. She says she simply did (does) it because she “loves people”, wants to make them happy, and because she wants to be a good role model for her 6-year-old son.

She told WXIA:

“I may just work at a fast food place, but you have to take pride in what you do. Especially with how hard today’s times are, it’s nice to put a smile on someone’s face.”

Isn’t that a fact? No matter what you do, go in with all your heart. If you’re doing something, you might as well do it the best you can! Anything else is a waste of time. And whenever you can also make someone happy in the process, it’s an all around win!
