The Oscar-winning actor, Leonardo DiCaprio, has been an outspoken advocate for the environmental dangers caused by climate change for several years now.
In the words of Ban Ki-Moon, Secretary General U.N., “Climate change is the single greatest threat to a sustainable future but, at the same time, addressing the climate challenge presents a golden opportunity to promote prosperity, security and a brighter future for all.”
Owing to the fact that the actor is one of the most ardent activists regarding climate change, he has been declared the official Messenger of Peace for the UN.
His eagerly awaited documentary Before the Flood has just been released. As expected, DiCaprio’s powerful documentary covers a number of environmental issues and offers detailed insight into how climate change will affect life on the planet.
Directed by Fisher Stevens, the hour-and-a-half-long documentary features a three-year personal journey of Academy Award-winning actor and U.N. Messenger of Peace, Leonardo DiCaprio, on his mission to interview individuals from every part of society in both developing and developed countries. It’s these people who give exclusive, ardent and realistic views on what we must do today and in the future to avoid disruption of life on the Earth that would have catastrophic consequences.
What can we do to ‘undo’ what we have done so far? Can we fix the problem that threatens to bring all life on Earth to an end?
