Frasisco Zalasar, a horse trainer, recently shared a video on his Facebook page of Jingang, a horse falling down and playing dead every time someone tries to mount him.
It’s unclear whether Frasisco from Durango, Mexico, was one of the trainers in the video, or if he was sharing a video sent to him.
In the video, Jingang threw himself to the ground when approached or mounted, then lying dead still until the coast is clear.
One of the trainers in the video called the behavior “cute but naughty.”
Presented as the silly tricks of a cheeky animal in the video, many of those commenting were amused by Jingang’s antics.
From an animal rights perspective, it seems clear that the horse would prefer to be left alone and not be ridden.
In all fairness though, working animals should be able to protest and refuse work and exercise and in Jingang’s case, there could be many reasons for his refusal – perhaps he was even trained to react this way. You decide.
