Mike Tyson has really changed a lot since his time as a boxer and this really shone in 2016 when the former heavyweight set up his very own Cannabis based company named Tyson Holistic Holdings.

The company sells an array of cannabis based products and merchandise and in the year to follow, Tyson Ranch started its development.

The 407 acre site which is based in South Carolina will hopefully be host to multiple tourist attractions which will include a lazy river, music festivals and as Tyson’s business partner described – a “lollapalooza of cannabis”.

The First Kind Music Festival will be a huge focus and aired for the first time last February, offering folks beautiful music, marijuana and an opportunity to learn about the multiple health benefits.

The aim will be for the ranch to successfully accommodate  an ever growing cannabis tourism industry, combining a hotel with an additional 200 “glamping” units on the premises.

Speaking to Cannabis Tech Today, Tyson said:

“I thought about how much good I could do by helping people with cannabis. It was a no-brainer.

“I’ve been fighting for over 20 years, and my body has a lot of wear and tear. I had two surgeries and I used marijuana to calm my nerves, and it would take the pain away… But before, they had me on those opiates, and those opiates had me all screwed up.”

The ranch will double as a cannabis research facility as well as a place of education, aiming to introduce and explain the health benefits of the medicinal drug.

Business partner, Mr Hickman, said:

“He’s building a holistic centre for health and wellness.

“There will be testing in the university. It’s going to be about educating people on the healing benefits, how to grow, and how to be in proper business.”

With visitors like Piers Morgan making an appearance on Hot Boxin’ with Mike Tyson, a podcast where the boxing legend shared a spliff with Morgan.

Seemingly quite pleased with the reception, Piers added:

“When in Rome, right?”
