The device used to produce this remarkable, real-time 3D face mapping is the Omote from Nobumichi Asai. By utilizing advanced sensory technology, the Omote is able to rapidly locate and map the contours of one’s face, at which point it locks on and can then be used to entirely alter facial appearances in real time, even as the actors move around.
