The world was brought to tears when footage emerged of a 12 year old boy in Peru was spotted on street cameras doing his homework under street lights.
Víctor Martín Angulo Córdoba’s family had no electricity, so the committed student perched himself on a curb in Moche while reading his book.
Philanthropist and millionaire Yaqoob Yusuf Ahmed Mubarak from Bahrain happened to come across the viral footage and decided to fly to Peru to help the young boy.
Yaqoob assisted in transforming Victor’s home into a double story, helped his mom set up her own business and pledged to rebuild Victor’s local school which was also in a state of decay.

It turns out that Yaqoob also came from an impoverished background and this humbled the millionaire.
Victor and his family expressed their overwhelming gratitude to Yaqoob to local news:
Thank you for the help you are offering, thank you very much because you are helping us to build our school.
I thank the people who want to do this to me [build my house]. I thank them very much that they have had that kindness and they have given time to come to my humble home, because anyone does not do it.
Victor’s mom, Rosa was shocked by the generosity and mentioned that, ‘He kept thinking, how can people from another continent come to see me?’
We can only wish the best for young Victor, his family and Yaqoob – what beautiful souls.
