An eerie CCTV clip claiming to show a ‘ghost train’ rolling into a station has YouTube users divided.
According to the Mirror, the CCTV footage was captured at Baotou railway station, and shows a train arriving before stopping – as if it were picking up passengers – before moving on to what one person has said could be a ‘parallel universe or something’.
‘Or something’ perhaps being the operative phrase here.
The clip was uploaded to paranormal YouTube channel The Hidden Underbelly 2.0 on 14 March.
The video description reads: “This footage was sent to me with the following information.
“This footage was captured on March 10, 2018 and when the station’s security where watching the surveillance cameras they noticed this ‘Ghost Train’ pull into the station and stop as if it was picking up passengers and then leaving.
“My source said that in the 12 years he has worked there he has never seen anything like this before and hopes he never does again…”
YouTube users seemed fairly split on the clip – with some saying it just looks like a ‘reflection’ or something that’s been Photoshopped, while others think there could be something a bit more unusual at play.
One person wrote: “That looks so fake. It just looks Photoshopped.”
Another said: “Looks like they re-record over the same tape and it didn’t work properly.”
One simply thought: “To me it looks like a reflection in a window.”
But somehow not everyone was skeptical. Some people thought that – even if it wasn’t footage of a ghost train – the clip could be proof of something equally as mysterious.
One said: “Pretty awesome footage I got to say. So many people saying they can do that so if you can do it, do it and send Hidden Underbelly the video. I don’t think it can be repeated. Too many skeptical people out there.“
Another suggested that there could be a ‘time machine’ in the area, ‘dimensionally grabbing part of the surrounding area’, while someone else offered: “Could be a parallel universe overlapping.”
“An image like that could be spiritual illusion or entity appearing as a train. All energy has to go somewhere,” another wrote, adding: “I’d know I’ve seen ghosts and weird things – don’tforget dimensions/spiritual realm.”
One person really went for it, writing: “Invisible cloak meta material military experiments.”
Someone else chipped in with a similar quip, saying: “That’s just the Hogwarts Express!”
Even if the footage is merely the result of some accidental reflections or cunning Photoshop work, it’s still pretty cool to watch. We’ve got ALL of our fingers crossed that it’s the train to Hogwarts, though…
