Surreal Pictures Of Frozen Lake Michigan Looks Like It’s ‘Shattered Into Millions Of Pieces’

With temperatures of -46 degrees Celsius, Lake Michigan’s shorelines turned into an icy, surreal world.
Thanks to the Polar Vortex, the lake was frozen for most of winter. Chicago, Illinois, temperatures reached -30C (-23F) and it caused the most beautiful frozen waves and shards of ice to form on the lake. Hills and hills of ice “shelves” were created as waves crashed and froze.
Lake Michigan is one of the five Great Lakes of North America and the only one located entirely within the United States. It is the second-largest of the Great Lakes by volume and the third-largest by surface area, after Lake Superior and Lake Huron.
Take a look at these incredible images of the lake transformed into a magical icy wonderland.
