Twelve year old Tamir was shot dead by police in Cleveland, after a man who saw the boy playing with what he twice stated, was ‘probably a fake’ gun in a playground, called 911 thinking it would be the safest thing to do. Tamir Rice’s father, Gregory Henderson said that his son was a ‘respectful young man’ who ‘minded his elders’. Confused why the police did not use a stun gun or a taser Mr Henderson also points out ‘[They] shot him twice, not once, and at the end of the day ya’ll don’t shoot for legs, you shoot for the upper body,’.
