“We are unconsciously communicating lies”
Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, AKA Lady Gaga visited Yale University’s campus for the Emotion Revolution Summit. The event aims to “ignite important conversations about making schools a place where all students can thrive.”
Gaga used this as an opportunity to speak out about how she almost quit the music industry due to feeling so shallow and low. She also goes into detail about the root causes of her unhappiness and how she overcame these obstacles.
“I really don’t like selling fragrances. I don’t like wasting my time shaking peoples hands, smiling, doing selfies. It feels shallow. I have a lot more to offer,” she says.
She goes onto say that she felt sad at being overworked just to make music executives wealthy, describing her passion and creativity as having to “take a back seat“.
“So what did i do? I started to just say no. I’m not doing that. I’m not taking that picture. I’m not going to that event. I’m not standing by that because that’s not what I stand for. Slowly but surely I started to remember who I am”
Lady Gaga literally had it all, fame, money, fortune, legacy, friends and more … yet she was deeply unhappy and unfulfilled. That’s why I think this video from her has so much relevance to society today and especially to young people seeking happiness through fame and money. It is clearly NOT the answer.
And I am happy that someone with Lady Gaga’s fame and influence has woken up to sad truth about the consumer society we live in, because she has the power to influence millions with her positive message.
Please her spread her message by sharing on social media. Thank you. And remember to join us on Facebook at Educate Inspire Change for more truth on your feed everyday.
